In the traditional Amazonian context, the Cocoon is known as the preparation phase of transformation — the still moment before the wings of the butterfly unfold.

These Cocoon Capsules are part of the two-part ceremonial system used with Mariposa Hapé. Together, they represent balance: stillness and flight, grounding and vision.

The Cocoon is traditionally taken before the Mariposa Hapé to prepare the mind, body, and spirit for the visionary experience that follows. It is said to help open the pathways of awareness and align one’s energy for the journey ahead.

These extra capsules are provided for those who already have Mariposa Hapé and wish to continue their ceremonial work in alignment with the traditional sequence, or for those who wish to strengthen, enhance, or intensify their Mariposa ceremony.

In the teachings from which this medicine originates, the Cocoon symbolizes inner preparation, purification, and receptivity.

It is used ceremonially to still the mind and bring focus before entering visionary space.

Mariposa (and Cocoon) is a proprietary ceremonial blend created in collaboration with indigenous plant wisdom keepers.

The specific plants are kept private to honor traditional lineage and sacred preparation methods, and will not be disclosed.

All components are natural, unadulterated plants and legal within the USA.

Important Context on Expectations & Traditional Understanding

In traditional Indigenous teachings, Mariposa is regarded as a relational, feminine medicine. It is not approached as something that produces a guaranteed or immediate experience. Some individuals notice effects quickly, others only after repeated encounters, and for some the medicine remains subtle or quiet. This variability is considered natural within plant medicine traditions and is not viewed as success or failure.

I experienced this personally... even with full ayahuasca ceremonies and taking 3-4 servings in a night, it took many encounters before a meaningful connection developed. At first I felt nothing. Over time though -  visions, encounters, dimensions, tears, and great expansion. As healing occurred and the relationship deepened, the medicine began to open in profound ways. This experience is often shared in traditional contexts as a reminder that these medicines work through relationship, patience, and timing, not force or expectation. Because of this, Mariposa may not be a fit for those seeking a specific or immediate outcome. It is traditionally shared for those willing to meet the medicine over time and allow it to unfold in its own way.

Traditional Safety Guidelines

The following information is provided solely as context for the traditional use of the herbs in Amazonian ceremonial practice. Elders explicitly state:

Do not take MARIPOSA or its Cocoon within 6 hours of ANY other plant medicine or pharmaceuticals. Do not take during pregnancy and do not combined with pharmaceutical substances such as antidepressants (including MAOIs and SSRIs), antipsychotics, tricyclics, MDMA, opioid painkillers, dextromethorphan (DXM), anti-anxiety medications, ADHD medication, blood pressure reducers, or cold medicines containing epinephrine. Individuals with a history of psychosis, or certain psychological conditions such as BPD, NPD, or DID/MPD, are typically advised to abstain.
