Volume-Based Sales:
We sell Hapé and other medicines by volume (fluid ounces / milliliters), not by weight. If it comes in a bottle, you are purchasing a volume-based measurement (unless otherwise stated). The bottle will always contain the exact listed volume. Some settling may occur during transit. The only exception is our large bulk bags (100 g and 500 g), which are sold by weight for customers who prefer the most economical option. These bags match the exact weight selected at checkout, but even with these, dosing is still done by volume, just as in traditional use.

Why Volume, Not Weight?
Different Hapé blends have different densities. Some are fluffy and light, others are fine and compact. Because of this, the weight can vary significantly, even when the volume is identical. This is why weight is not a meaningful or accurate measurement for how Hapé is actually used. We fill every bottle to its maximum volume capacity. Note: Our 1/8 fl oz bottles are filled to approximately 85 percent to help prevent spillage, based on customer feedback.

Why Volume Aligns With Traditional Use?
Hapé is not measured by grams in any traditional practice. It is always prepared and served by volume, never by weight. This is true in ceremony, at home, and among Indigenous Medicine men and women. Traditional dosing happens in three ways:
1) By sight, placing the amount in the hand.
2) By using a small spoon or scoop
3) By using the applicator itself as the scoop
Because real-life usage and traditional usage is volume-based, we measure and sell it the same way. This gives you a far more accurate understanding of how many servings each bottle provides, because your purchase reflects the same measurement method you use at home.
