  1. Creation: Quetzalcoatl was considered a creator god, credited with bringing civilization and knowledge to humanity.
  2. Wind: He was associated with the wind, particularly as a bringer of rain clouds, and was often depicted with a wind jewel (ehēcacōzcatl) around his neck.
  3. Venus: Quetzalcoatl was linked to the planet Venus, which was considered a symbol of fertility and rebirth.
  4. Priesthood: He was the patron god of the Aztec priesthood, and his name was used as a title for high-ranking priests.
  5. Knowledge and Learning: Quetzalcoatl was associated with arts, crafts, and knowledge, making him a patron of scholars and intellectuals.
  6. Feathered Serpent: His depiction as a feathered serpent may have symbolized the connection between heaven and earth, as well as the cyclical nature of life and death.

Mythological Accounts

According to Aztec mythology, Quetzalcoatl was the son of Ometeotl, the primordial androgynous god. He was also the brother of Tezcatlipoca, Huizilopochtli, and Xipe Totec. Quetzalcoatl was said to have played a key role in the creation of humanity, along with his brother Tezcatlipoca or Huitzilopochtli.
